Decorating Your Bathroom
Shabby Chic Style

Decorating your bathroom shabby chic style is so easy to achieve, easily in just one day! All you need is a little paint, carefully chosen accessories and inspiration. And inspiration is exactly what you have found here!

I chose to paint my master bathroom a beautiful mediterranean blue. I then painted the trim around doors, baseboards and door panels black. After they were dry, I distressed the black painted areas with coarse grit sandpaper. Instant shabby chic style! It is that easy!

I adore the elegant spirit of Audrey Hepburn so I hung black and white portaits of her on the walls. If you plan to use my black trim idea, choose your favorite photos in black and white, framed nicely in black, of course. I found a great vintage hairdryer at an antique store. I simply hung it on the wall and placed an old frame around it. Again, instant shabby chic style.

My little boy's washroom is decorated in an old west cowboy theme. I "framed" the mirror in rope and have a lasso hanging on the opposite wall. I also use rope as shower curtain tie backs and a horse shoe as a shabby chic decorative touch attached to a guest towel display.

Guest washrooms are also so easy and fun to decorate. The possibilities are truly endless! What about a vintage beach scene with the walls adorned with cute swim suits from the 1950's era? I'm thinkin' little bitty, teeny weeny, yellow polka dot bikini!
